A Taste of Gulfport History
Established in 1955 as the Hickory Hut Bar-B-Q by Albert and Mary Malone, this beloved eatery earned its
quirky name when a friend joked about following a trail of blow flies to find it. Over the decades, the Blow Fly
Inn became a cherished spot for locals and visitors alike, known for its hearty Southern fare and scenic views of
Bayou Bernard. Though Hurricane Katrina devastated the original building in 2005, the spirit of the Blow Fly
endured. In 2023, under the new ownership of Jonathan Allen, the restaurant reopened as Blow Fly Bar & Grill,
blending its rich history with modern touches. Today, we continue to serve the classic dishes you love, honoring
a legacy that spans generations. Our Mississippi Home.
Thank you for being part of our story.

Dana Parker
General Manager
"Hey y’all! I’m Dana Parker, the new general manager here at Blow Fly Bar
and Grill, and I couldn’t be more excited to take the reins of such a beloved
Gulf Coast staple. A proud Gulfport native, currently holding it down in
Bayou View, I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over a decade, ever
since I traded in my Army boots after ten years of service for a server apron.
Since then, I’ve worn just about every hat in the business (some literal – I’ve
won “Best Hat” two years running at the Lynn Meadows Witches’ Brunch,
and I’m aiming for that third win!). From serving tables to managing kitchens,
I’ve learned that a restaurant only runs smoothly when every single team
member is valued. I consider my team family – from the dishwashers to the
line cooks, the bartenders to the servers – we’re all in this together, and I
love them dearly.
Outside of the restaurant, I’m a proud mom of two amazing daughters in the
Gulfport School District, and a dog mom to two wildly adorable pups –
Dude the American Bulldog and Pig the Pug. I’m a huge foodie, an outdoor
lover, and I basically live for “glamping,” kayaking, and Mardi Gras season.
(Catch me dancing with the Bad Moms – a brand-new Gulf Coast dance
krewe!) Oh, and when I’m not working or parenting, I’m probably elbows-
deep in glitter, glue, and fabric – creating props and costumes is my jam.
I’m beyond passionate about great food, good vibes, and creating a space
where people feel welcome. I can’t wait to bring BLOWFLY Bar and Grill back
to its former glory and make it the go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.
Come say hey, or paddle up. I’ll be right here by the water."
William Parker
Chef
“I'm William Parker, a seasoned chef based right here in Biloxi, Mississippi.
For years, I've honed my skills in a variety of coastal restaurants all along
the Gulf Coast. I'm known for my creativity and a real passion for bold, fresh
flavors. I take immense pride in crafting dishes that truly reflect the rich
culinary heritage of this region.
My hands-on experience in busy kitchens has really shaped my ability to
lead with precision and deliver high-quality meals, even when the pressure
is on. Whether I'm preparing seafood straight from the Gulf or
experimenting with new techniques, I bring dedication and heart to every
single plate.
Outside the kitchen, you'll often find me enjoying the outdoors – fishing,
camping, catching some live music, or just spending time relaxing at the
beach. I really value the time I get to spend with friends, family, and those
closest to me. As a proud father, I strive to find that balance between my
work life and my home, and I always find inspiration in the simple,
meaningful moments. I try to live life to the fullest, one meal, one moment,
one memory at a time.”
